trying to find a clever toy tidying play mat thing but can't remember what its called

I recall seeing in a catalogue and a someones house a large circular mat with a drawstring round the edge. Children can open it out and play on it and then when they've finished you leave the toys on it and pull the strings and it closes into a storage bag. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, what its called and where I can get one?

Make one?! Shouldn't be too hard!

ShrinkingViolet · 27/05/2008 08:53

Great Little Trading Compnay used to do one, but I can't see ti on their site unfortunately.

blisscake · 27/05/2008 08:55

I thought about making one but am not that confident in my abilities. I thought it was GLTC but couldn't see it.

Here's
some if you don't mind ordering from abroad?!

nannynick · 27/05/2008 08:57

I know the sort of thing, but alas have no idea what it is called or where you can get it.
At pre-school for tidying Lego (or any other small toys for that matter), we covered a table with a large cotton sheet. At tidy up time, the corners were gathered together and the contents the tipped into the appropriate box.

Maybe i'll make one. And stop bugging you!

I know what you mean - I remember seeing a blue denim one with a red cord, but I can't find it online.
would this do?

ChasingSquirrels · 27/05/2008 09:13

I brought a round table cloth from a charity shop, punched eyelets round the edge (did already have an eyelet punch) and threaded string through. Cost about £4.
It was a blue table cloth and I also sewed some yellow patches on as it was a pirate island storage bag. Might get it out again for lego.

Thanks everyone, there's some fab ideas there, exactly what I'm after. I can't believe how excited i get about top storage ideas. Am sure this will revolutionise our lego covered floor!

I've got one called a pewmax baxx or something. It's brilliant for beach, park etc.

sparklysparkles · 31/05/2008 18:22

this

I have a home made one and we are selling all out lego - would you like to buy ours? My mum made it the same size at the GLTC one out of yellow canvas - dd hardly ever played with it anyway!

Hi, what are you talking all about? There is only ONE that works the way it should, does not wrinkle, has corners to put up to save the lego-stuff ON the mat, tidied up is in a second, is great for outdoors as well (sand, bassin, even picknick), summer and winter, stays an eternety and IS worth the price!
If you want one, ask me (my neigbor sells them). Go see: www.playntidymat.ch
Bye

Premaxx used to do the Baxx cloth bag which is as you describe but I can't seem to find it online and wonder if it has been discontinued

SpangledPandemonium · 17/06/2011 08:21

Not cheap

FourArms · 30/06/2011 13:27
