Moths - are sprays / diameticous earth safe?

I've had tiny little moths hanging around a good while now. At first I wasn't too bothered but I can see they have had a good go at the carpets in most of my flat. Little patches here and there in every room. I bought indorex spray and diameticous earth based on recommendations but I'm a little afraid to use them. As I've gotten older I have started worrying more and more about toxic things and don't want my family breathing things in while sleeping! Has anyone used indorex or diameticous earth on their carpets with no issue? Or does anyone have any recommendations for natural solutions? I've been busy steaming the carpets today but it's such hard work moving furniture to get into all the corners of the room!

I have used Moth Stop from Lakeland on carpets and curtains after seeing the damage moths made to MILs flat.
I generally spray when the room can be empty for a few hours. I see a lot of moths right now, but so far no damage. I don’t have a lot of carpeted floors though.
Natural repellents like dilute lavender oil sprayed are also good, buy if you already have damage that might be ineffective.

Do you mean Diatomaceous earth? When I kept chooks, it was recommended by the eco lot as pest control. However it can be quite damaging if inhaled. It is a dessicant and doesn't dissolve so you wouldn't want it in your lungs. It can also be damaging to skin IIRC. I personally wouldn't use it on these grounds alone.

I use Zero spray, I only have carpets on stairs and landing. I live on my own though, just make sure I breath out when I spray and leave house for at least a couple of hours.

I am careful at my Parents though as they have pets, I always shut the doors and make sure pets stay out of room until the next day.

You shouldn't have to spray too often, do one good spray and go out with kids/pets for the rest of the day. But if you have fish then I know you have to be very careful, says something on back of can.

That's what I was worried about. I was recommended it by pest control at work but then reading up about it online...just wasn't sure about it. I'm not going to use it. Sorry about the spelling...I winged it! ☺️

There is a bit of damage but I think I'll still try the lavender.
