Can I get rid of mould on a maclaren pushchair?

We have kept our pushchair in the shed for quite some time and got it out to get ready for our holidays but it is covered in mould (everywhere, even on the straps!).

With hindsight it was probably a bit silly to leave it in a damp shed over the winter as it probably had remnants of all sorts of food left in it! I can manage to keep the house clean but the pushchairs and cars are another matter!

Any ideas if it will be possible to remove the mould and if so how? Cheers!

don't know how bad mould is/ or even if this would work, but you could try scrubbing with bio wash powder. i got a little mold out of a pushchair a friend gave me years ago doing this and left it in the sun to dry

can you take it apart and soak in a solution of milton? then wash in the washing machine?

I've managed to take it apart but I don't have any milton. I don't think non bio would be strong enough. Would oxi-clean discolour it if I soaked it in that before chucking in the washing machine?

I phoned Mclaren and found out it would cost £65 for a new hood and seat for my Mclaren Techno Classic so fingers crossed!

I stripped the mouldy cover off my Maclaren quest and put that and any loose straps through the wash with some normal bio liquid (we don't have anything fancy like oxi-xlean here anyway) on a one-underline programme, and it came out lovely. (scrubbed them first). scrubbed the hood and other straps in situ. Was really pleased (and releived) with the result.

I acually removed all the covers/straps and soaked them in a bath of cold water and a couple of scoops of oxi-clean for about 2 hours, gave them a scrub then popped them in the machine on 30 degree wash. Most of the mould has gone, amazing! Its now the cleanest its been since we brought it. I didn't notice any significant colour fading alhough the flourescent strips at the side don't look as bright. A good result!

I've got this problem on the hood. In the absence of oxi-clean I was planning to scrub with a weak bleach solution. Someone please shout at me if this sounds like a bad idea. I can't do it today but will probably get to it tomorrow or Friday. Thanks!
