Iron is less than a year old - doesn't look as if there is limescale -
Any other top tips before I have to buy a new one? X

Didn't know you could still do that kind of thing? Where would OP take it? Thanks!

If you live in a hard water area and put tap water in it, I would try descaling it before replacing. You can get sachets specifically for this in supermarkets.
You can't always see limescale.

Add white vinegar to the water in the iron, if there is scale inside it will clear it

Less than a year old suggests it was not fit for purpose - so, even if it is not under any sort of guarantee, you should return it. Take it back to the shop, or contact the supplier with details and request for a replacement.

(Assuming you haven’t done anything unusual or harmful to damage it. Checking for limescale blockage is a good idea first though.)

It’s a reasonable expectation that a domestic iron should work properly for a year.

I had to return mine to the manufacturer. It was a few years ago and I think they sent a box to send it back in
Ring the customer service helpline and they will advise you.

Just google electrical appliance engineers in your area. Most towns/areas have a local independent guy.

Getting an iron fixed by anyone other than the manufacturers will probably cost more than buying a new one. And the OP shouldn’t have to pay anything after less than a year.
