Repair or replace Miele washing machine?

I’m a terrible procrastinator
its £250 parts and labour to repair my 15 year old Miele washing machine that has developed its first fault? or shall I replace it?

I would want a high quality machine to replace as I just like the reliability and quality. There is a basic Miele for £850 incl
delivery and removal of old machine

Repair repair repair. It's unusual to find an appliance nowadays that can be repaired. Mieles are brilliant. I bought one that was more than 30 years old and it lasted for another 20 years before breaking. At that point I did have to replace it.

I would repair . Washing machines these days are nowhere near as good regardless of how much you spend .

I would repair it. I had my first Miele washing machine for 22 years.

It did also have a repair of bearings at around 15 years.

If you are happy with how it performs then repairing will be the cheaper option especially if money is tight.

However, I gave in and replaced my nearly 18 yr old Miele a couple of years ago (it had a few repairs in those years). I bought a Samsung and honestly it's far better than the Miele was in its latter years - more efficient, spins better and has a huge drum. Washing machine technology has come on a lot in the last couple of decades.

Miele used to have I think a 10 or maybe even a 20yr warranty. Now, only 2yrs so I assume the build quality isn't the same. A new model would have different features, maybe a faster spin etc though. Ours has autodos, so works out how much detergent to use. Its only 18mths old though with no issues.

They have a factory outlet and the stock changes daily, if you did want a new machine.

@Nanny1983
I know that’s true of some brands (looking at you Indesit) but doesn’t Miele still last as long as previously?

Considering I paid £700 15 years ago and I can still buy a Miele for £800 makes me wonder.

@JC03745 My current machine only came with 2 years warranty 15 years ago and if I google the estimated life it’s 15 -20 years. Pretty sure it’s the heating element that’s gone and regular doses of Calgon would have helped.

thanks for the outlet suggestion too,

I’m still undecided….. arghhh

I would repair, but I would only use Miele for the repair.
