Mystery Bites - but only one person?

Hoping for some advice as I go slowly mad working out where I am getting mystery insect bites.

Family of 5 with one dog, who is currently staying with a relative and is regularly flead and wormed. But I’m (36F) the only one who ever gets bitten. Ever.

Over the past year, I’ve been intermittently bitten in crops. Sometimes legs and ankles, sometimes around my bum and upper thighs, this time shoulders and collarbone and around my ankles.

I thought it was a specific chair which we put in the garage and treated with indorex etc and I wasn’t bitten while it was there, but I haven’t sat on it the past few days and I’m being bitten again. My husband shares my bed, never bitten. The kids are always rolling about on the floor and carpets, never bitten. I wondered whether it was the chair in the babies room where I breastfeed but she’s never bitten.

we’ve fumigated our bedroom, hoovered everywhere loads of times. Then it goes quiet for a bit and the cycle restarts. Everywhere hoovered at least once a week when no bites. And I’m like a madwoman with the hoover when they flare up.

could it be in my clothes drawers? Any other ideas? I’m guessing it’s a flea but honestly drawing a blank on where to go from here. Clearing rooms and fumigating with three small kids and my husband working away is overwhelming.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If it’s fleas, as far as I know you only know you’ve been bitten if you’re allergic. Maybe everyone is being bitten but you have an allergy and nobody else does?

Perhaps! It feels weirdly invasive and dirty. Like it’s a reflection on my home (I know that’s daft!) And no visitors have ever been bitten to my knowledge?

Also you’ve just reminded me to take an anti-histamine. It doesn’t help I’m one of those people who gets a wild over the top reaction to any insect bites on holiday etc.

Where do you work? I used to get flea bites in a public facing job many years ago. We didn't allow dogs on the premises but they must have come in on one or more customers clothing. The boss had the carpets treated, which stopped to bites on people's ankles, but not our wrists. The damn things were crossing the tables between us and the customers it seemed. Eventually some even spotted a flea actually making the jump. Only some of us showed bites, mostly seemed to be those who reacted badly to mosquito or midge bites.

A GP surgery in a deprived area. So very possible. But no carpets and I haven’t been there the last few days so I don’t think I can blame work 😭. Good thinking though, thank you.

Yeah when our pets have had fleas it's always me that gets bitten. DH either doesn't or he doesn't react to them so doesn't get itchy spots.
Fleas are more attracted to some people, and some people react to the bites more.
Our pets now get flea tablets from the vet and have never had fleas since

My son's friend stayed at our house once years ago. My friend text me the next day and said I think the cat has fleas - as X has 'some' bites. The cat was up to date with flea stuff but I checked him and couldn't see anything at all. Used a load of Indorex and changed bedding etc. My son said his friend was off school the next day and I thought (but didn't say - bit dramatic) I saw him a couple of days later and he was covered - absolutely covered - head to toe in bites - I was absolutely mortified but neither me or my son had any. Some people must be more prone /vulnerable to being bitten.

This is awful. And how I look on holiday when the rest of my family swan about with maybe one or two bites. I wonder what makes us so appealing!
