Bosh washer/dryer not working – repair or replace?

My 6-year-old Bosh washer/dryer has stopped drying (it seemingly runs the drying cycle ok but everything's still wet at the end – I suspect it's not heating up properly). Is it worth getting Bosh out to repair it (call out charge is £109 plus parts) or should I just replace it?

Have you tried googling what might be wrong with it and if it’s likely to be fixable??

This would be my first step

I would try to see what was wrong in the first instance, if I could mend it myself with a part from eBay. If I was a heavy user I would probably only expect it to last 6 years but a lighter user I would have expected it to last longer. It's more the amount of use than how many years old it is. How much would a new one be that you want.

We had this problem too. Had someone out to look at it. It seems there is a fuse in the top of them that trips if it becomes too hot and stops it heating up any more. You can, in theory, just push them back in with the right tools, but every time ours would be pushed back down it would trip again within 24 hours and we just had to replace the machine.

@YellowSubmarine994 Thank you, I think that’s what happened to ours. I managed to take the top off & push the button back in myself with the help of a YouTube video in the end. Hoping we can get a bit more use out of it 🤞

Well what a turn up this was!

Our washer dryer hasn’t worked for about 18 months. We don’t use the dryer function often, but we have looked ourselves for filters and what not under the top to see if we could clean it.

Pulled it out again today after reading this, didn’t realise the buttons were actually buttons but I have warm fluffy towels again!

Thank you @YellowSubmarine994!

Mines a hoover. I googled dryer fuse, which led me to dryer thermal fuse. Asked it to locate it and it came up with a few guides. Saved me a few ££ I hope, unless it keeps tripping.

It’ll most likely be tripping because it’s clogged up with fluff, the dryer duct needs taken apart and cleaned/flushed. Especially the Hoover one, when I worked for them it was a 10 minute job I did a LOT! (I’m an appliance engineer)
