Least scented bio washing powder?

It seems to be impossible to buy fragrance free bio detergent in this country. I haven’t been impressed with fragrance free non-bio offerings.

Can anyone recommend a low/unobtrusive fragrance bio washing powder/liquid/pods? To give you an idea, Fairy non-bio makes me sneeze.

Aldi liquid,washing smells of nothing.

I use most of the Ecover range and I've found most are scent free or only gently fragranced.

They don’t do unscented bio though, only non-bio. I’m after bio detergent.

Ahh - for some reason I completely mis read that. I have to say the Ecover non bio works really well on my 3x sweat drenched/mud covered teens. They’re gym/fencing 🤺/running mad and 2 work part time as swim teachers yet it seems to get all the chlorine, sweat and dirt out at 30 degrees without an issue. If you ever decide to revisit non bio again!

Thank you @RobinEllacotStrike @BetsyRegards @SleepingisanArt @WomanFromTheNorth @GreyDuck @Gatekeeper you’ve given me some good ideas to try. Thank you so much!

It’s so annoying that Persil/OMO and Tide sell bio enzyme fragrance free versions in supermarkets in North America & Australasia! Just not here.

The uk does seem to be unusually obsessed with home things being fragranced.

All those plug ins & sprays are very popular here too. Not so much other places I've been to.

Sainsburys own brand non bio powder came top in a recent Which review - for being eco- friendly and good at removing stains. I bought it and it seems good but I can't smell anything at all from it. To my nose, it has no smell.

I use that and also the bio which hardly smells. Box powders are more environmentally friendly than liquids too.

Ecover bio doesn't smell that bad, that's why i buy it i hate strong smells

JerrySprinter · 03/02/2025 10:14

Small bio doesn't appear to smell of anything that i can detect. I offered a couple to my friend to try and she moaned that it doesn't smell of anything.

I once stayed with some friends who used a lot of those in their lovely house. For my birthday, while I was with them, I bought myself a sample set of Celine perfumes and honestly thought I’d wasted my money because none of them smelled of anything. Until I went home …

It is a strange peculiar UK thing. I once had to leave a house viewing as the vendors had turned on a plug in, in every single room and it was just so offensively strong on the nose.

It can’t be good for pets and small children.

I find Persil Bio powder to be inoffensive, I can't bear the smell of fragranced washing powder and conditioner, you also don't need to use much Persil powder as it's concentrated.
