Ok, so this is a bit sad at my age ...

but ...

house is a total wreck as usual ..

have zero motivation ....

have a whole 6 hr day tomorrow (Thursday 8th) while dd is at school to really go for it ...

stole idea from LoveMyGirls but would you like to join me for a sort of mutual "kick up the bum and get your house sorted " thread? Suggest meet on here at 9am GMT (I'm an hour ahead - so will get a head start ) and then report back in at 45 min or hourly intervals ....

anyone??

thought the participants in these threads might be interested :

Happy Birthday - I think your dh owes you another birthday when he comes back!

I hope your day does improve - maybe takeaway tonight or something?

toadette · 15/05/2008 10:12

Coffee break time here...hands round cups

Counting, happy birthday
Sorry to hear about your restless night with dd, hope you get more sleep tonight.

So far I have..

  • tidied living room, sorted recycling, dishwasher on, laundry started, beds made, kitchen tidied.

Still to do

  • keep on the offensive with the laundry attack
  • vacuum floors
  • dust
  • clean windows
  • bathrooms

How are you getting on, mildmanneredjanitor?

How's everyone getting on?

I have stopped for an early lunch and finding it difficult to get motivated again...

Have done some more laundry. Still need to do floors and windows. Really should get a move on, school run in an hour.

Jas · 15/05/2008 12:40

Hello Glad to see you are all still going.

Bugger - just seen this thread...thought it was for tomorrow...was all motivated too

2point4kids · 15/05/2008 12:50

Am I too late to join in?

I have a 2 year old that I am taking to nursery in half an hour and will try and blast through as much as I can in the house while he is there (as much as my 2 month old will allow me to do between feeding and changing etc!)

toadette · 15/05/2008 12:56

Hi
We're still going here. I'm planning to do another cleaning morning tomorrow if anyone wants to keep me company?

Off to do some windows...

toadette · 15/05/2008 13:15

Windows done, just got to put vacuum cleaner away and get ready for school run. Will try to pop back this afternoon.

fifisworld · 15/05/2008 13:53

So i know im a bit late in joining this week, was on here last week and it did motivate me but my house doesn't stay clean and tidy for long so, -

Today so far ive:

  • Done 2 loads of washing
  • Cleaned Bathroom
  • Cleaned Kitchen
  • Sorted out toy boxes in the living room
  • Hoovered and mopped floors downstairs
  • Put washing away
  • Changed bedding on both cots

But now i have sat down and dont want to get back up.
Still need to hoover upstairs and clean out the fridge and have some hand washing to do

Jas · 16/05/2008 07:27

Morning

I'm going tomake a serious effort to get some stuff doe today...anyone else in?

Countingthegreyhairs · 16/05/2008 08:35

Yep, I'm in Jas!

Didn't get much done yesterday apart from a bit of washing and tidying, so still to do:

office - tidy and clean
make beds
tidy and clean sitting room
dust & hoover dd's bedroom

Crikey Toadette, you are keen!! A whirlwind has been unleashed!!

That was quite a list yesterday Fifisworld! Congrats ..!

Hi, everyone else; time to get stuck in I reckons ...

Morning Counting and Jas

Jas, if only the house stayed tidy then I could enjoy my whirlwind efforts!

Today I am going to do a general tidy-up, yet more laundry and then take a blast at dd's bedroom.

Just going to make the obligatory coffee first of course.

List:

  • Coffee
  • load dishwasher, wash down worktops, cooker and table, sweep kitchen floor
  • tidy up living room
  • make up batch of bolognese for freezer
  • tidy up PC table
  • tackle the clutter mountain in dd's room
toadette · 16/05/2008 10:58

How are you getting on?

Still working my way through this week's laundry. Kitchen nearly finished and almost coffee break time again.

Jas · 16/05/2008 11:39

Hi,

I managed tomake the bed and do the washing up before I left, and am back from toddler group now, so I need to get some whirlwind action in here.

My top to do list is:

laundry - wash, dry , sort and put away
dining room
kids bedroom
kitchen

There is more, bt I will be very happy if I get those three room done tbh.

Back in a bit.

Jas · 16/05/2008 13:18

Not quite the whirlwind I was hoping for, but I have a gentle breeze of cleaning going through the house.

I have
washed up
started preparing tonights tea
swept and moppedkitchen
wiped surfaces
hung out this mornings washing, and put next load in
fed ds (and me)

I'm going to go and put away yesterdays clean washing, and try and do something with dd2s roon, I will report back before the school run.

How is everyone else doing?
