How do you wash and store your microfiber cloths?

I usually use old teatowels to wipe surfaces dry after cleaning but recently bought some microfiber cloths. I have put them straight in the washing machine after use but they have stained some of my clothes, maybe thy were bad quality ones. How do you go about cleaning/wiping surfaces in your home and how do u clean and store the cloths you use?
Sounds like a very stupid question but I am curious to know how others do their cleaning!

I wash all new stuff separately first time even cloths to check if the colour runs.

when I have a lot of cleaning cloths I put them all in together. Sometimes on a quick wash with a squirt of bleach. Other times with towels and a longer wash.

in your case I would do a one off hand wash of the new ones (put a white cloth in the bowl) to see if the colour is still running, I’ve had this with yellow dusters but not microfibre cloths.

I keep them in a box in the bathroom, and wash them all together once a week along with all tea towels. They shouldn’t stain your clothing, mine never have.

I only buy white microfibre vcloths. After washing them ( no fabric softener) and air drying them, they go in a bucket under the kitchen sink.

I recently bought some all black ones. As greying colours look gross. It is ace, I'm very pleased with myself! I mostly save them up and boil wash them, but not always.

I wash them with the rest of the washing, and store them in the back of the tea towel drawer. Mine have never stained clothes.

I stick a wash on about once a week of microfiber cloths and teatowels. I add son Napisan as they don't like being washed at high temps. I fold them once dry and store in a box under the kitchen sink.

After use, mine get thrown casually on the floor in front of the washing machine and go in with whatever similar-coloured load goes on next. Once they're dry, they live folded up in a basket in the cupboard under the sink.

I don't think I have ever had any where the colour has run.

I wash ours with non bio powder and no fabric conditioner then air dry in a radiator. They are all folded and stored on a shelf in the airing cupboard.

I save mine up and wash them all together, multicoloured , not had any colour runs to date. I read somewhere that due to the micro plastic fibres they shouldn't be washed with normal laundry. I'll get black or brown next time as the the lighter colours get minging indelible stains & need soaking in oxyclean stuff.

I bought a job lot when my cleaner couldn't come any more during covid. I wash them in with the normal wash and army roll them and keep them in a fruit bowl in the kitchen along with the tea towels. So they are always there ready for use.

I wash them on the sanitation cycle in the washing machine, but I boil wash them fairly often. I have some for the kitchen and some in the utility room with my cleaning products

They do shed microfibres, but that's a problem for the environment rather than your other laundry. I do get that they are hardwearing and effective for cleaning, but washing them means more plastics in the water supply, so the advice is to wash them infrequently if you choose to use them.
