I won't be beaten by this stain

Hopefully attached are two pics of a stain i'm battling with.
It's my son's favourite (and not cheap) shirt.
After many denials of any reason why he had a big pink stain in his pocket he finally fessed up to leaving a christmas paper hat in the pocket and his moron of a father washed it with it in.
I've tried the usual sprays and some ink specific stain remover and left it to catch what little sun we have and while it's faded it's still there.
any suggestions of what to try next? white vinegar? milk? or do i admit defeat and set fire to it?

I’d hang it outside on the line where it will catch most sunlight, and, apart from dampening the stain with water regularly, leave it for a few days.

It worked for a large tomato sauce stain on the bodice of a pale blue and white dress of DD’s once, and by this stage what have you got to lose.

Hand scrub it with vanish and washing up liquid or your washing liquid
like really grind it between your knuckles
I got baby poo stains out this way

Definitely try scrubbing it with washing up liquid/laundry soap

Some stains just won’t come out and that’s a tricky one if sunlight hasn’t done the trick. If it doesn’t come out look on vinted for a replacement - I managed to find a replacement for a dress of mine that was ruined but was an older design so not in shops anymore.

Soak it. Try normal detergent first (in my experience, Vanish takes the colour out, so I’d use it sparingly). The other thing which won’t be recommended, but I’ve found helpful sometimes, is a bit of boiling water on the actual stained part, but this obviously needs to be approached with caution!

Is it just on the pocket? Could you not unpick it and remove the pocket. If the stain has gone through to the shirt itself, or if removing the pocket leaves stitch marks you/a friend who sews could replace it with a pocket in a contrasting colour.

Soak it for an hour in the pink stuff stain remover. It’s amazing stuff, it even removed blood from an item of clothing and blood is usually really tough to get out

Cold water is great for removing blood. Add some salt to the cold water if required. I've never had an issue with blood stains

This stuff is good for stains and also for the sticky bits left behind from stickers, plasters, etc
