Getting BO out of shirts/t-shirts

I have two teenage DSs and I find that using Persil non bio at 40 degrees is not getting rid of the smell (which reactivates when the offending garments are ironed Envy).
Any recommendations? I seem to remember someone recommending vinegar back in the day but would prefer them not to smell of a chip shop (though they would probably love it Confused)

I regularly give them a soak for a few days in a bucket with some napisan in, which helps keep on top of it.

I wash at 60°c, with powder washing powder and laundry sanitiser (usually Tesco, occasionally Dettol) in the fabric conditioner drawer.

When ds came back from uni all his tshirts seemed to have an ingrained BO smell. The above has got rid of it.

Try washing with the Dettol Anti bac detergent. This worked for me, you just use it like a fabric conditioner me.

I put a small squirt of anti bac fairy liquid in machine. Never had an issue with bo smells now.

I soak in white vinegar and water - failing that white vinegar and water in a spray bottle sprayed on the pits before washing seems to do the trick for all but the grimmest!

Biological washing powder, not non bio.

Swap to bio powder

Needs to be bio, ariel is great

I know what you mean op 🤢
I spray the pits with white vinegar before a wash, and i use the dettol antibacterial laundry cleanser. Halo is good for sports stuff too. I would definitely switch to bio, I use persil bio and it's great.
