Cillit Bang black mould remover

Puppupandaway · 07/01/2025 14:50

Astonish mould and mildew remover (green and white bottle) from Home Bargains. Works wonders, especially on sealant.

JumpstartMondays · 07/01/2025 14:53

HG mould remover

...and more regular cleaning.

astonish mould and mildew Remover green bottle available in most pound shops or supermarkets

spray over some cotton pads ( soaking the pad ) and place the pads where the mould is leave over night , then simply wipe down after , if it still remains repeat

We were always told that keeping a window open would prevent mould. In reality, we now have a frezzing bathroom that has mould in it! A second vote for Cillit Bang which worked wonders.

Mould magic

Mould magic. Tried loads and this is the best

I use HG mould remover but you need to ventilate the room well. After that it is cleaning and most importantly drying the area getting mouldy. You can use a flannel and dry it down after use.

@Zimunya it isn't that great at removing the amount of moisture created in a bathroom. If you can afford it get a glass vac ie Karcher or other brands. Failing that a squeegee or just use absorbent cloths to wipe away as much water off the surfaces as possible. Consider replacing the bathroom extractor fan for one with a humidistat which can be set so that it comes on when moisture is detected in the air.

Mould magic.

I gave in and tried the Facebook ad stuff (went through the website, not a Facebook clicky link). Before that did the bleach, did the cillit bang, etc etc... they were OK, but not perfect.

It is absolutely bloomin wonderful. Comes in a smallish tube but omg I was surprised by how effective it is.

Did my bathroom yesterday. We have a load of sealant around the window that had black spots inside it, and blackening grout around tiles at ceiling level. Cover it, leave a couple of hours, wipe off. No mould left. None.

Tautumnal · 07/01/2025 15:05

If its in the silicone you may have to re-seal.

CherryRipe1 · 07/01/2025 15:10

I found neat thick bleach worked best. Clean off once the mould has gone. Also white vinegar but don't ever mix the two! ☣️

Thank you - yes it's mainly sealant.
