Range cooker recommendations

Looking for recommendations for a new range cooker. Gas hob/ electric oven. Had a fab cannon for years, replaced with a Stoves Richmond 4yrs ago and have had to have umpteen things fixed. After having a fault before Xmas on the temperature gage and being told I needed to close the door more quickly(?!) by the ' engineer', I've decided to bite the bullet and move on.

Never really got on with the smaller ovens tbh. It's 1000mm , 6 hob, grill oven, x2 ovens and a plate warmer.

So all suggestions welcomed!

I really dislike range cookers but am stuck with one as the house we moved to has one. It's a Rangemaster with 2 large ovens, a grill and a warming drawer. It has 4 standard gas burners and 2 extra large ones for woks etc. The ovens work well although the r/h one is usually used for storage! The l/h one is multifunction but I usually only use the fan oven setting.

I would seriously advise you to buy an induction range if you can. I looked into buying a replacement cooker with induction not gas but sadly our electrician said that our (very ancieht) kitchen would need to be rewired to support an induction range.

I'm really happy with my Belling dual fuel range cooker. Got it from a shop on ebay 30% cheaper than I could find in the shops as it was a customer return. It's 8 years old now and only (so far) is a blown lightbulb in the oven.

I have a rangemaster with 2 ovens, grill, lots of rings etc. Mine is fully electric and at least 20 years old, it has had a couple of repairs but has laboured long and hard for a big family that do plenty of entertaining. Would definitely recommend it.

We have a Rangemaster with an induction hob. I don’t cook but my husband does and he loves it.

I recently inherited a Rangemaster from our vendors- I’m not sure how old it is but it’s a 90cm model. I love it although if I get the kitchen redone I’ll probably go for a slightly larger one. The narrow oven was perplexing to start with but now I’ve found some skinny trays for it I find it gets a lot in it.

I inherited a 90cm Rangemaster that was 16years old and still going strong. I sold it on when we had an extension and upgraded to a full double oven Rangemaster model. Not had any problems with either. Our new one has a gas hob but I wish I'd gone for induction for ease of cleaning. My parents had a stoves one but it didn't last long, stank the house out when cooking and all the markings rubbed off the dials.

Similar problems with a Stoves that was a replacement for an ancient Rangemaster. The Stoves now has all the problems the Rangemaster had but is only a few years old, wish I hadn't bothered in many ways, it does look a bit better I suppose. The engineers never seem to be able to figure out what's wrong, spend forever on the phone getting advice then fix one thing that then causes another problem. If you find a good one let me know!

We've got the Stoves Sterling 1200 electric induction. It has 5 induction zones, a separate grill, main fan oven and second oven with numerous different settings and a slow cooker (which I've never used). I love it. We changed from gas hob and single Neff oven which came with the house when we bought it.

Rangemaster here too. Gas hob, wok thing, slim oven and big one. It’s great. The slim oven heats up super quickly.

This is exactly what's happened with mine too!

Thanks for all the responses. It seems as I thought, the older models are so much better. I'd had my cannon for 15yrs and only changed it when it basically gave up!

I shall have a look at some of the range masters. I'm not keen on induction cooking.
