New bedding

I really want to buy a full set of bed linen - 4x pillow cases, king fitted sheet and king duvet cover.

Want something that feels fresh and luxurious but that washes well.

Cotton, breathable etc. Not silk.

Any recommendations?

I am obsessed with proper linen - La Redoute does a good range. Also Zara Home, and Piglet in Bed if I'm feeling more flush. People also recommend Sleep and Soak but I haven't tried them personally (yet!).

I have French linen from Sleep & Soak and love it. However, I do like it to be ironed which is quite a chore, although crumpled linen is promoted as the natural way. I sometimes compromise by just ironing the edges, which gives it a crisper look. The advantage with linen is that it improves with use, softening and becoming more comfortable. It is expensive though.

Toast bedding is lovely

I get all my bedding from either Richard Haworth or Tielle. Both are manufacturers who supply bedding to 5 star hotels (such as the Savoy) but also sell direct to the public online. As you'd expect, the quality is outstanding and it washes really well. Much better bedding than what Dusk and Soak & Sleep sell, this is in a different league (and is addictive).

Primark is great for bedding.
