Can you lovely people give me some laundry advice please?

It's an Inset Day here and DD3 (12) has a friend to play. They've been working on a school project (garden in a shoe-box jobby). I let them use old pots of emulsion paint because it sticks to shoe boxes better than play-paint would. Anyway when they were actually painting they were wearing aprons. Then they moved onto cutting and sticking and other tiddling about aspects (and I wasn't watching at all...because it's not terribly fascinating)

Now suddenly visiting child (hereafter VC) has emerged with smudges of green emulsion all over jeans and top. From VC's reactions it seems like it'll be a bigger deal for her and her DM than it would be for DD3 and me. She's a well-presented kind of girl IYKWIM and unnecessarily so given that they'd planned to do messy stuff.

At the moment the clothes are soaking in cold water. Good idea? Will a quick wash with bio detergent do it? Any other ideas please?

Rub neat washing up liquid on the stain then run under cold water.

Hurrah!
Yes, it works.
Case closed.
Many thanks MEB.

PS Am not a slattern, just I usually do painting in "painting clothes" which um stay painty.
