Air fryer or multi cooker

Hi all, we are going to buy our first air fryer type product in the sales

I am looking at the Ninja double stack air fryer or the 15 in one multi cooker.

I have read the reviews on both but really not sure which one would be best. The multicooker has a few reviews saying it only lasts a year or two.

Wondered did anyone have either a Ninja airfryer or multicooker and could they tell me their thoughts please? Much appreciated, thank you x

I have the multi cooker. Just over two years and is used daily. I would highly recommend it, but only if you are going to use the additional features- e.g. sautée, pressure cooker slowly cooker etc. I make a lot of soups and stews so use it to fry off elements, pressure or slow cook it through then simmer down, as well as using the air fry feature. If you genuinely won't use those features stick to the double stack.

What do you want to cook?

For me I'm happy to use the oven for chips whereas being able to walk away from a multi cooker rather than standing over a stove when making soups, pasta sauces etc is very useful, so I'd pick the multi cooker. If you aspire to bake more things while using your oven less, or encourage your teen to cook little bits and bobs for themselves more, then get an air fryer.

(I actually don't have a ninja 15 in 1, I have a "fuzzy logic" rice cooker that also sautes, slow cooks etc. Rice cooking is important to me. We eat a lot more brown rice now.)

Thank you for the replies @ohidoliketobe @TwinklyStarlight

I am not really sure what exactly I need it for. I will use the air fryer for sure but come January I am going to start eating more healthy foods... rice, meats, veg etc so that's why I had considered the multi cooker. But I wondered how convenient the air fryer part is on the multi one because it has a lid and only the one section whereas the airfryer on it's own has the 2 baskets that side in.

Wish I could take both home to test lol

I have had the multi cooker for 5 years and I use it daily. Made the Christmas pudding on the steam function. I use the sauté function followed by pressure cook for making stew, soup and curry. Air fry for so many things. Bake is useful. Grill for cheese on toast. I don't use slow cook often but every now and then. It's honestly the best bit of kit and I only use the actual oven for frozen pizza for DS since it doesn't fit in the ninja.
