Do you LOVE your washing machine?

We bought a washer dryer from John Lewis just before my 3.5yo was born for £720. Which to me is bloody loads of money. We were splashing out on a quality item or so we thought.

It's been absolutely shite since the start and I actually want to cry about it. But I won't. Now it is out of warranty (my fault, I put off calling them because they've been so horrible in the past, and let it go past the 3 year mark without realising. I'm so mad at myself). The dryer doesn't work, all our clothes smell and I have had enough. In order to claim under the consumer rights act John Lewis say I have to pay for an engineer to tell them it's broken. But I don't think I can bring myself to sink another £1-200 into this piece of crap from hell.

So I need to buy a new washing machine in the black friday sale. Quite scared of buying a bad one again, this one has scarred me for life.

Please tell me happy things! There must be an amazing machine out there that you love love love! Doesn't have to be a dryer, at this point I'll settle for a washing machine that, um, washes my family's clothes. Shock horror. Needs a quick cycle like 30 mins, the shortest on this one is like 3 hours. That's about it.

'Love' is not a word I would use to describe a domestic appliance to be honest.😂

Our current machine is a Bosch, and I'm not particularly keen on it. The previous one was a Zanussi and that was great. Prior to that we had a Candy, and that was good too.

We have a Siemens which cleans really well with time delay and half load options. We also have a Candy which was really cheap and is excellent as well. Candy has a 10 year warranty. Next replacement will be a Bosch same factory as Siemens but cheaper range.

I don't mean to hijack the thread which has been interesting and informative but it's because of the helpful replies that, if I may, I'll ask a question. I recently replaced my old gas standalone cooker with a built in oven (which is fine) and an induction hob built into the worktop. I like the induction hob (a Haier) - it's easier to clean and functions well but for one thing. We have always enjoyed using loose tea leaves. Our old trusty stainless steel teapot we used to put on cooker hob at a peep to brew was not compatible with the induction hob. We bought a borosilite glass teapot suitable for induction but we don't like it unfortunately and I'm finding I am avoiding making tea now (😨). My question is, do any of you have an induction friendly teapot you love that is just a teapot you put tea leaves in and use a strainer when pouring the tea into the cup not a glass one with a metal insert in the middle. Sorry if I shouldn't ask this on a thread about washer/dryers. Thanks

Thanks, sincerely appreciated. I was looking more for a teapot I can swish out the tea leaves from after having the tea than a kettle. I have a ceramic teapot as well but I find they never hold their heat once the boiling water has been added to the tea leaves and you can't put them on a hob at a peep to brew. I know it's not the worst problem in the world but I'm missing a good cup of tea. Thanks again

One review says the usable capacity is less than the nominal capacity, so you'll probably need to buy the big one.
