Cleaning Mould in bathroom

Hi, we have a recurring problem with mould building up in our bathroom due to lack of ventilation. I use one of those HG sprays for the tiles, but I don't think they are intended for use on painted walls. It comes off very easily from the walls with a wet wipe, but would using something else be better for preventing it coming back? (This is specifically a question about the painted walls, not the tiles.)

I use HG spray on walls, ceilings. Seems ok, just wipe with a damp cloth once it’s done its work to get the residue off.

I have this problem too. We have an extractor fan, radiator, and 2 windows. Now the silicone sealant is going grotty and no amount of treatment seams to get it back.

@Lonelycrab thanks I didn't realise you could use it on walls- good to know! 👍

Second that paint, I did all my windowsills with it and they turned out lovely

I tried all sorts of sprays for mold on the wash basin sealant then saw something on YouTube: roll up a piece of kitchen roll like a long cigarette push it against the sealant and pour on thick bleach to soak it through and leave in place for about an hour.

Works a treat!

Some people advise against using bleach on sealant but it worked for me.

I've also done this, it works great at bringing up the grout and sealant but it tedious work and doesn't last long in my experience.

Our sealant and grout has also degraded quite dramatically but I can't say with certainty if the bleach has caused it or not.
