I got my winter things down from the loft this week. Even after I removed all the obvious summer stuff, there was no way to store them in a useful way.. so I’ve started a massive reorganisation. I’ve emptied my wardrobe and filled a basket for charity and a bag to add to summer storage , removed items that need ironing or stitching. It still looks quite full, and don’t know quite what to do with all the stuff at the bottom, shoes, bags, a wetsuit, wrapping paper. I’ve ordered a shoe storage thing for the back of the wardrobe door, and a bag storer that hooks over the bar, and some stick on hooks. I’m going to try really hard to only store those items I will use, but it’s difficult with eg some expensive loafers slightly too narrow, or a bag that I love but find heavy and slippery. I have no experience of selling.
so here are my questions for more organised people.
Is there a definitive number for dresses, coats jumpers, tops skirts, bags and trousers? Minimum and maximum would be great. I’m retired, don’t go out much , I think that makes a difference.
How do I get rid of high value items without guilt?
How do others store bags and shoes?
How do I ensure that I use all my things, not 10%?
How do I keep in control ? Does one in/ one out work?

I can't help you with most of those things but I would definitely get rid of things you don't want or use no matter how much they cost. Look on it that you're enjoyed owning them but the time has come for someone else to have that pleasure.
