Nursery furniture smell

Has anyone bought nursery furniture from Mamas and papas and found it has a terrible smell?
I bought a three piece set about 5 months ago and it has the strangest chemical smell I can't get rid of. I've tried everything including airing it out for weeks, cleaning with vinegar and activated charcoal. Nothing is helping.
I contacted mamas and papas to try and arrange a return but I'd have to dismantle and re package which is just not possible as I'm by myself with a newborn.
Has anyone had the same experience or have any advice? I know it doesn't sound like a big deal but I'm finding it very upsetting as it's making my baby's clothes smell bad and the smell makes me feel sick.... Thank you

Hi, OP. We can see your thread doesn't have any replies yet so we're going to move your thread to our Housekeeping board now to see if any MNetters have any advice for you (our Nurseries board is for the childcare type of nursery, not the room type...).
