Is a small amount of mould dangerous?

Hi,

I noticed a damp patch on my wallpapered ceiling about a year ago, Next to the ensuite. I normally have the door open slightly when I use the shower. Realised that was the cause and stopped and forgot about the patch.

Noticed the wallpaper slightly peeling today and saw mould underneath. No idea how long it's been there.

My baby slept in the room for 8 months, and is in the room every day. Is this harmful?

I will sort the area tomorrow, but can a tiny area be really harmful? The mould is mainly all covered by the wallpaper.

I'm highly anxious so I'm sorry if this a daft question.

Its not a daft question at all

Mould as we all know is dangerous, yet so many of us have mould in the home, no matter how much money we have or have not

I have mould in a bedroom , its a spare, has built in wardrobes which is where I store coats, mould develops in a corner

The mould that is most dangerous is the mould that you can not beat into submission. If when you treat the area and put in remedial behaviour and the mould still comes back daily - thats when you panic. For most of us its surface mould, can be treated with a spray and ventilation/heating and it goes Its when the spores are well entrenched into the plaster that the problems with health arise

The stories you hear on the news are when the mould is so bad it encroaches on everything - beds, clothes, shoes etc
