In a whim I've bought some multi-purpose wipes from M&S. They're Almond & Sweet Orange. Oh my lord they smell divine! I think everything has been cleaned at least once Grin

I'm off to M&S later to buy some more of the range.

And no, I'm not the marketing team but I might well be their typical customer Wink

Ooh. That might encourage me to be less slovenly, will check out.

Ilovemyshed · 01/11/2024 15:42

Are they biodegradable though or just add to landfill? If not, however nice, maybe rethink to something reusable?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 01/11/2024 17:39

Is there a spray that is similar ? I have microfibres cloths that are used just with water to clean but I like a nice fragrance as well. At the moment I’m using Elbow Grease which is lemon in the kitchen and Method Ylang Ylang in the bathroom.

Years ago Marks did a fabric conditioner that was so nice but disappeared

MsTeatime · 01/11/2024 17:50

The method wild rhubarb all purpose cleaner is really nice to use with cloths.

So many of them are biodegradable these days. Even the most basic wipes at Aldi have been for years.

I'm not sure how you'd describe the effect that has in me, maybe sneezing fever? Grin

Oh no!!!

DrizzleMySwizzle · 01/11/2024 19:23

I found a lovely mint and basil hand wash in M&S the other day. Highly sniffworthy. And cheap.

Is this middle age?

PolaroidPrincess · 01/11/2024 19:23

MsTeatime · 01/11/2024 19:20

Oh no!!!

Oh yes and DD loves the stuff. I can imagine that when she moves out she'll clean everything with it and I'll never be able to visit.

For those not happy with wipes they seem to also do a spray. Is that more acceptable? Wink

When DS got home he said that the house smelled "faintly clean". I'm not sure if that's a compliment? Grin

Oh yes , I have some of the Wild Rhubarb spray in the downstairs loo , it smells lovely but it makes me cough .

PolaroidPrincess · 02/11/2024 09:28

I'd take that!! I think I'm going to have to, it's the nearest he's got to a compliment on the house in a long while like all of his life

@70isaLimitNotaTarget I'm not the only one then Flowers

I can so imagine my son making that comment too. Maybe this should inspire me to get up off the sofa and make our house smell vaguely clean.

I wonder how many brilliant products and foods there are in supermarkets that I've just never tried, or known existed. The range is overwhelming, I tend to stick to what I know to keep it less onerous.

What does that actually mean in practice though? What is the point of being biodegradable when they are likely to be thrown into a binbag that isn't? Or can they go in the recycling bins?

These are real questions by the way. I gave up all wipes some time ago but have seen the biodegradable ones and wondered. It is hard to make the right choices - I understand now that microfibre cloths, etc, are a source of microplastics in the water supply, rivers and oceans.

CandyRaining · 02/11/2024 13:20

The rhubarb method spray makes me sneeze and cough too, all the method sprays do in fact. However the method floor cleaner in rhubarb doesn’t so I’ve been using that to clean my floors instead and still get the scent without the coughing and sneezing fits.
Purdy and Figg dolovely scented sprays. Quite expensive but I only buy when on offer.
Going to try your wipes, @PolaroidPrincess thanks for the recommendation!

My old AdHD brain loves a bit of novelty so the whole house is currently clean and fresh. It won't last Grin

Do uou buy new cloths and spray every time you need a big clean for your ADHD brain?

LizzieVeraker · 02/11/2024 14:05

Hmm, even if they're biodegradable, pretty much nothing is biodegrading in a tip, and if you live somewhere where rubbish is burned (e.g. Leeds), then that's not happening there either.

I've rarely ever bought wipes and usually use refills for my sprays. Is there a problem with that?

Hiya could you look on the spray bottle label and see if it is "pet friendly" please?

I love the idea but am a catlady...

SparklyLimeJoker · 03/11/2024 12:03

It says 'do not allow pets to walk on or access treated areas until they are fully dry'

Why haven't I found these before?
