Cleaning bathroom radiator ( rust spots )

I have one of those ladder style radiators with the rungs fairly close together . It is old but still working .
Unfortunately covered in rust spots -
I've tried using a non abrasive cream cleanser which does work a bit but difficult to get in between the rails . I can feed a cloth in and go back/forth and I've got narrow brushes ( a toothbrush is too wide )

I;ve got a bottle of Elbow Grease degreaser (the heavy duty one in the black bottle ) as well as the yellow one , I use the yellow one on pretty much anything .
Can I use the black bottle spray on the radiator . I read on the bottle not to use on oven dials etc as it'll take the paint off them.

I don't really want to use wire wool but I did read crumpled up foil works - anyone tried it ?

It's not a job I enjoy and I'll need to sit myself on a low stool and get on with it .

<<I don;t want to replace it or have it taken off and dipped or whatever they do with radiators >>

TIA

A cleaner I had for an EOT clean said barkeepers friend (powder version) worked really well for that: unfortunately I bought the cream cleaner version of it and didn’t find it worked at all. I wonder if the Pink Stuff would be good…

Ah , I've seen Barkeepers Friend .
I don;t think a powder would stay in place long enough to do anything , even on a damp cloth .

At the moment we don't have the heating on so if I use a spray or cream I can wrap it in sections in clingfilm (it'll look like something out of "Dexter" )

I've order some of the eraser sponge things . I might try an inconspicuous spot with the heavy duty spray and see what it does .

Is it chrome? If so, I can confirm crumpled up kitchen foil and either white vinegar or water does the trick surprisingly well.

HG professional limescale remover will remove rust. Must be the professional one not the bathroom one!

Crumpled up foil and a big blob of ketchup

We had this in the kitchen. Dogs water bowl. Husband took radiator off sanded it down, primed and sprayed. It's like new again.

Our bathroom ladder one needs doing now. Husband will repeat the exercise again sigh...

I think it's chrome (it is probably nearly 20 years old )

I have foil , vinegar and ketchup . I;ll give that a try them get my DS in there to do the lower rungs that I'm too ancient to bend to .

I've tried all the recommended solutions on mine, but nothing has worked - I think it's too far gone and the rust has penetrated more than can be removed. I'm admitting defeat and replacing it with a stainless one!
