Stick vacuum cleaners

I have mobility problems which makes cleaning difficult though I’m determined to keep going for as long as I can.

at the moment I have a Henry hoover which I’m struggling with, I tried using my sons upright and that was far to heavy I couldn’t push it.

i mop the floor with a flash power mop which I manage well, so was thinking maybe a rechargeable stick vacuum.

can anyone recommend one, or have any ideas how I can make cleaning more manageable

Dedending on your difficulty, I'd consider a corded stick. The battery on the cordless ones weighs a fair bit, and if you have hand /wrist /elbow /shoulder issues, it might be too much.

Well that's what I'm finding anyway!

... or a lightweight canister vacuum.

I've just bought a Henry Quick, for similar reasons, and it's fantastic. I wanted/needed cordless and bagged, which limited my options.

If you don't need bagged the Amazon Basics stick vac is cheap and has decent suction and is very light as it's corded.

@floranan, best thing I ever bought was a cordless stick with a re-chargeable docking port, which we put on the wall near the bin. It was a Samsung and cost around £100 (it was £149 but it was on a £50 cash back offer). Every day, I lift it off, whizz around with it with one hand, it is super-light, and it does the job in 10 minutes flat tops, then put it back on it's docking port. It is so light that it makes it a pleasure, if you know what I mean. It only has a small receptacle for waste, but it is a three click twist, empty into the bin, and return, and it is back ready to go again. It's downsides are that only goes for about 20 minutes before losing power, great if you whip round frequently, but wrong if you only vaccuum whole house every week. It is better in a room than on the stairs, and likes hard floors, it is OK on carpets, but it sucks mats up. Hope this helps, x

If you can afford it, why not get a robovac to do the large areas & a stick for going around the bits that get missed.

I have small Miele which I can even use and balance on the stairs

It's very powerful

Small but mighty

Plus it has a very long lead which is useful
