Airing cupboard

I really really miss my heated airing cupboard and thinking about getting one of those dimplex heated tube things to put in there.
Has anyone done similar?
Really can't think of another (cheap way) of doing it but not sure really if the tube thing would be up to the job?
Just taken some bedding out of the cupboard that was line dried and was perfectly dry before I put it away. Got it out and have had to febreeze it as it smells horrible.
I fed up with it. Something needs to be done! But what?? Any ideas?

I got a little tube heater as I had the same problem. Old house had a hot water tank, this one doesn't, and the little heater keeps the cupboard dry and sweet. It's been on for seven years, except when we've been away. My parents have done similar.

I may be wrong but I'm sure I have seen people install a small radiator in the airing cupboard because there was water going to it? Potentially ...

Ahh that sounds promising

@muddyford do you leave it on all the time? Just wondering about putting it on a timer but not sure if it gives off enough heat if I just have it on for an hour a day?
Do you find it costs much to run?

I don't know how much it costs to run but yes, it's on all the time. It's a Hylite eco heater, 500mm long, 55W. Bought it on Amazon, think it was c£20 then. But I have had no issues with the clean linen feeling damp and smelling horrible.

@muddyford that's great, thank you. I'll get one

You're welcome. I thought clean and dry linen would stay fresh but it didn't. Good luck!

As someone has already said we too have a small radiator in our airing cupboard (part of the central heating). We have a combi boiler so no hot water tank.

Just a thought. The boiler is in the airing cupboard so would it be safe to put a tubular heater in there as well?
Boiler doesn't get hot enough to air clothes but wouldn't the heat from a heater cause it to potentially overheat?
