burnt on food - non-stick pan - help!

kitkat9 · 22/04/2008 16:40

have I wrecked it? Burnt last night's lentil bolognese (managed to save most of it!) on my favourite non-stick pan.

Let it soak overnight with washing-up liquid but it's still stuck fast.

Have tried a brillo pad but didn't work too well, and I don't want to scratch it.

Any super-duper rescue remedies?

Biological washing powder and leave it to soak.

washing powder, just sprinkle a little on bottom, put a bit of water enough to cover burnt bit. It should scrub off easily in about an hour.

great minds buda

I can't remember who told me about this but I've done it for years. Well on the very rare occasions I burn something

score burnt bit lightly with sharp knife, taking care not to scratch bottom of pan then put some vinegar in and soak for 30 mins or so, should flake off burnt bits.

I always boil the kettle and pour it over.

Saw on How clean is your house a few weeks back - Coke ??? she put enough in to cover the burn then brought it to the boil for a few minutes, then it all came off pretty easy. Haven't had the need to try it as yet though

thanks for the suggestions, shall try the washing powder immediately.

You see, I don't know how to deal with it as I have never before burnt anything....
