Hi, would welcome any recommendations for a kettle either with a hard water filter built in, or whether best to get just a "normal" kettle and then a britta water filter jug thing. Very hard water area and getting a water softener not in budget atm.
Any recommendations on kettles welcome thanks

I just have a normal filter jug and a kettle, primarily because I want to be able to boil a full kettle's worth of water rather than only half a kettle full.

Good point @Ineffable23. I presume the filter part in the kettle takes up space. Also be handy to out filtered water to cool in the fridge in summer etc if get a britta jug...

If you get a Brita filter, make sure it’s the one specifically for hard water. The regular ones don’t work on hard water and we still had a kettle full of chalk.

I had a Britta kettle and found it leaked a lot around the spout.

I now have a regular one with a little filter behind the spout to stop scale getting in to drinks. The filter slides out to be rinsed off.

I had a kettle with the Brita filter built in and it was an absolute pain which I somehow lived with for over ten years!

It took ages to fill as you had to wait for the filter to drain each time before topping it up, so it took about three attempts to fill it. A lot of the time I used to bypass the filter by filling it directly through the spout. It held as much as a standard kettle....... eventually :-)

I'd stick with the jug if you really want filtered water.
