Wet room - stopping water going everywhere?

Hoping someone can help. DS is 18 and autistic, off to university. His accommodation has an ensuite wet room. It's purpose built uni accommodation so I think they might have done it to save space in the bathrooms (?) There is just a shower curtain between the showering area and the toilet/rest of the room. Online info does suggest that the water goes all over the whole floor.

I am worried that every time he has a shower, he'll drench the room and then slip over and slip and get hurt.

Is there anything I can get him? Some sort of floor squeegee or some sort of barrier I could put under the shower curtain?

My autistic DC just finished their 1st year, and the Uni accomodation office gave them a room with an en-suite that isn’t a wet room specifically due to the fact their autism comes with clumsiness/lack of spatial awareness.

Have you asked your son’s consultant from CAMHS or private clinic to write a letter to the Uni outlining your DC’s disability needs both for their accommodation and academically? Usually you need a letter both for Uni student services and DSA.
