I want to have less house-cleaning chemicals in the house!

So, I'm really keen to start reducing the chemicals and would love some advice. After being away for a week, my psoriasis started to visibly clear up, and I think it was to do with being away from the chemicals - (as well as being in the sun, but we've had a lot of sun here too). My DH died a couple of years ago from cancer, so just want to reduce toxicity in the house.

Realistically, I'm not going to be able to get rid of them all - I don't have lots of money, or time to make my own, although happy to try - but do want to get rid of the really toxic and strong ones.

I already use Method all-purpose spray and Cif in the kitchen, but also have bleach and anti-bac sprays...do I ditch them? Is Method still known for being less toxic? I recently bought Zoflora disinfectant spray as my cat had fleas, but realise it's kind of chemically...but got a full bottle - do I just ditch that too? can I do without an anti-bac?

And I use Flash Spray, Wipe, Done and Cif Bathroom in the bathroom -in the shower, on the toilet seat etc and use Harpic Bleach white and shine in the loo, as well as straight bleach.

I actually don't know what to use anymore on furniture, wood, floors, toilets! I'm kind of overwhelmed with not much knowledge - can you tell I'm confused, and I'm sure it doesn't have to be complicated! Thank you.

50//50 Vinegar and water plus a small amount of dish soap (one with no artificial fragrance) for floors, windows, walls and other surfaces. Hydrogen peroxide, at least 1.5% concentration, and a small amount of dish soap to disinfect bathrooms and kitchens, including toilets. You can buy 3% standard peroxide and dilute it, but I get more concentrated, large bottles of 6% and dliute them because it's cheaper. I put it in a spay bottle.
That's the entire toolkit you need and it saves a ton of money.

Another Nancy B fan. I have changed a lot of what I use and her instagram page is full of tips for cleaning/ baking etc. I use her cream cleaner (amazing) pure magic and all purpose spray

I've done all the making my own cleaning stuff years ago and then stumbled on Splosh which is the best non toxic but still smells good cleaning stuff I've ever come across. When I left the UK I bought a job lot and am dreading it running out. So I dilute it more than it says but it still works well. You have to buy the sprayers as a starter kit but after that it all comes in concentrated form and you dilute it with water into the bottles. It is amazing stuff.

I'm also someone who cannot use any scented clothes washing stuff whatsoever otherwise I sneeze my head off and get itchy rashes. I've never had any reaction to Splosh.

I use eucalyptus essential oil in all my Nancy recipes…I don’t do washing powder (yet) but every little change makes a difference.

I hate going into shops and seeing aisles and aisles of mostly unnecessary cleaning products, which these days are being promoted by “influencers” so many (generally)younger people are sucked in to thinking they need a million different products, and it’s all about the chemical fragrances
