Carpet Moths in holiday cottage!

Help!
Currently in a lovely holiday cottage but I've realised as the week goes on that they have carpet moths!
I'm worried they'll be on my clothes and we'll take them home!
I'm going to wash all out clothes when we get home. I've got a bag of yarn (I'm a crocheter) in the freezer here and I'm tumble drying sons woollen poncho in the hope the heat will kill them.
But what about things like out coats?

Will any of these this work? Am I just being paranoid?

Any words of advice welcome!

I doubt they’ll go for your clothes, they love carpet and stick to it, I wouldn’t worry at all.
We’ve had them in carpets but they simply love wool carpets and I’ve never encountered them affecting clothes, even wool/ cashmere etc.

Do you mean carpet moths or clothes moths? Carpet moths will be eating an area of carpet, clothes moths will go in higher places and eat fabrics or just dust.

Moths are very hard to get rid of, we've had them for years.

However they like fabrics that have been left undisturbed for a while. Not clothes you have on holiday which will be moved around a lot. I'd think the risk of you bringing them home is very low.

If you wanted, you could put clothes in a bin bag with moth papers (often sold in big supermarkets or hardware type shops, or there's always Amazon).

And I wouldn't judge host - as I say, they're hard to get rid of especially if you're a host and not in residence all the time. You could clear seemingly the lot then there's an egg or two between a floorboard or behind a skirting board and before you know it, you're back at square one.

I think if you put items you are worried about in sealed bags in the freezer for 2 weeks it kills any eggs off.

Phew that's a relief. They seem to be appearing from the skirting boards so I'm thinking carpet moths. The carpet looks relatively new, no bald areas.
Definitely not judging the owner, the place is lovely, quirky, and seems very clean. It's in the middle of nowhere and very old so I expect wildlife but I've been catching (killing) about 10 moths a day, probably 20 the first couple of days, so it's definitely more than just normal wildlife (we live countryside-ish anyway.)

I kept my yarn wrapped in a bag after the first couple of days, but it's been on the floor so I'll probably put it in the freezer when I get home if I can find space just to be sure.

Thanks everyone.
