Boring but what do you use to get white bedding really white?

I have some pure cotton white bedding that isn't looking as white as I'd like. Long story but Ex had allergies and I could only wash with Surcare. Now on my own and I'd like to revive it. No painful memories attached to it and it's just plain white and good quality. So basically what do i do with it?

Ta muchly 🙂

Daz powder. Not liquid. It's harder to find these days unfortunately.

(It's great for soaking dirty oven shelves too!)

Midden, fortnight, gobshite. Another Scot here. You are speaking my language. I think it’s all to do with the Steamie. It’s ingrained in us to want to be good at washing.

Good luck for the future and being gobshite free.

😂😂 Sorry! This is my life now, trying to sort my house out now that the lazy gobshite has his own midden to mess up and stink up.

I'm on a fortnight holiday and all I've done in my first week is declutter, clean and take trips to the tip/recycling/re-use hub. Most of which was stuff he left behind. I'll need another tip run before the bins go on strike next week.

Adult DS who lives at home has been a superstar helping and cut the grass etc today.

Rock and roll Saturday nights for the foreseeable for me... 😂😎

Having everything just as you like is a great way to make a fresh start so it's definitely time well spent.

Wash on a lower temperature. 60deg is ridiculous and will ruin both your sheets and the planet.

Dry outside in the sunlight.

I use dr Beckmann’s op and wash at 60 degrees, sheets changed weekly, 1000-1200 tc Egyptian cotton, and they are very white indeed.

You might find it's a build up of detergent responsible for the greyness. Use the 'extra rinse' option. It's recommended by Bosch for soft water areas.

Thanks all. I was in bed by the time your latter suggestions came in. Washing is complete and out in the sun.

The cover and the matching pillowslips look pretty white, I popped in a few random white pillowslips that I think were my son's (different brands) and they look better but not as white as my nicer ones.

I'll have a better idea when they are dry though. I've just received a flood alert text (again) though so despite yesterday's forecast I guess rain is on the way.

And no, washing my eco friendly organic bedding once at 60 degrees hasn't ruined the planet but chucking it in landfill and buying more might have been a better option? 🤔

Anyway, yes it's spot on that I just need to get things right for me and my DSs now, onwards and upwards to a happier future (with nice white bedding).
