Was this instead of getting a Roomba?

OverMyDeadBody · 15/04/2008 15:04

Oh yes, wise move, DS mastered it a while ago and it is very useful!

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 15:06

Mine also load and unload the dishwasher. Seriously though - some people think i'm awful gettng them to do jobs. Don't see whats wrong with it myself.

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 15:08

I think they do need to learn how to do housework type jobs.

Not quite so sure it's okay to expect them to do it whilst I MN though

Mine pretend to hoover , they use a wooden trailer thing with a long string and drag it around making hoovering noises.
But they are both scared of the real hoover.
Good training Sqounk!

Surely the point is that they do while you are on mn,killing 2 birds with 1 stone. House tidy, kids busy

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 15:14

you have a fair point, numptysmummy

I was v pleased with myself for having taught dd to wipe tables, until I realised she was using every opportunity to deliberately surreptitiously spill stuff just so she could wipe it up

micci25 · 15/04/2008 15:16

dd1 4 loves hoovering, dusting, cleaning with water i.e. tables, dd2's high chair. but is now wanting to clean like mummy and bleach everything in site cue long conversations about how dangerous bleach can be and she must never touch it! also had to move bleach from under kitchen sink to top of cupboard

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 15/04/2008 15:16

Do you have yours sorting socks yet?
Oh the things we come up with to entertain them. Sigh.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 15/04/2008 15:17

micci25 the solution may be to stop using bleach! It is so unnecessary!

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 15/04/2008 15:18

yes, TDWP, we do that. Today I took them to the drive through car wash as a treat because they had been especially good

Kathy - dd2 used to clean everywhere we went, she has been known to get a serviette to clean tables in cafes! (don't know where she gets it from - must be on her dad's side )

OP posts:
micci25 · 15/04/2008 15:27

i know that! but its the way i was brought up my mum would never clean anything without it and its so versatile you dont need a different cleaner for everything! although i dont use it on any of the dd's things incase its not rinsed properly i use dettol instead for that

Kathyis6incheshigh · 15/04/2008 15:36

Micci, have you thought of using natural cleaning products like vinegar and lemon juice - here - around your dd? She could even have her own special spray bottle of, say, water with a bit of vinegar in - it would get things clean but be completely harmless
