Clothes airer in garage?

Does anyone have their airer in their garage?

Our garage has a side door (person sized door not a car sized door) that can be left open or I have a dehumidifier I could plug in in there with the washing.

Are there any specific reasons not to do this?

It’s really annoying having to have the airer up in the house and even though I dry outside as much as possible there’s never a dry spell consistent enough that I can stop using it for a while.

I do, but only in the warmer months as it's so cold out there in the winter. But perhaps I should try because it'll still be dry, esp with a dehumidifier. I love having it there in these months because I hate having clothes all round us in the house and with two adults and three kids, there's a LOT!

I don't see why not, especially if you can ventilate it. At least the washing is out of the way. I've never tried it but I have seen others do it.

I have a friend who has 2 clothes lines in her garage hanging lengthways from one side to the other, they don't dry as quickly as being outdoors but it keeps them out of the way and is useful in winter. A dehumidifier would reduce drying time too.

Thanks everybody. The airer was shipped out there tonight and is covered with stuff that didn’t quite end up fully dry outside today so we will see how it goes.
