I currently live in a one person tiny bungalow and it's had nothing but problems with mould and rats etc and it's been affecting my health. my housing association havnt done anything about it and I now have a baby . I requested a managers move due to not wanting my baby in a property in disrepair and I even got a doctors letter in which my housing association asked for. the request for a managers move was rejected despite me providing what they asked for. I am now on the housing list however they very rarely have 2 bed houses which is what I want but I have to bid on everything including flats to get a ranking and to stay on the list. if I get offered a new build 2 bed flat with no garden should I accept it or wait for a house? I'm stuck on what to do. need to get out of where I am but I don't want to regret ending up in a flat.

Did you get pregnant so you would be moved OP?

What about the babies dad. Could he help get your housed?

Or get the issues sorted and put for an exchange.

I did not get pregnant to move. i am in a relationship! i am on the housing list so no my partner can't help me with housing. no exchange is out of the question I have tried that. the rent is too high for such a small property it is a studio bungalow. people pay less for a 2 bed house.

can just add that the problem has been ongoing for years am not in a position to rent privately. and I wouldn't give up a affordable housing property. I pushed for a managers move after I became pregnant and I was not prepared for my baby to be in a property in such bad disrepair.

the question I was asking is if it's worth waiting for house or should I accept a flat if its offered to me. I don't need to be questioned on if I got pregnant to move. not related to what I asked..

Does your partner live with you? Why would you dismiss the fact that he should provide help with housing his partner and child??
If 2 bed places are cheaper - why on earth wouldn't you just rent one?

Then you should have sorted this mess out before getting pregnant, no?

I'm sorry I don't have any advice Lilia233. I hope someone will come along with some soon. Good luck.

you have not read my post I provided my
housing association with what they need in order to move and it sill got rejected. so you have basically just responded by saying something negative and criticise me instead of actually giving advise what is was asking for!!

I meant 2 bed places on housing association. when I have been on home swapper the rent has been cheaper for a 2 bed so people would boy be willing to downsize for so much more

It's just guesswork. If you accept a flat does that mean you will be stuck there for ever. If you stay where you are is it likely you will be offered a house. Why can't your partner help you rather than completely relying on an already overstretched housing provision. You are probably not high priority as you are not homeless and not accepting the offer of a flat.
