Kitchen smells in open plan kitchen diner

We have an open plan kitchen diner and no extractor hood over the hob ( I know😬 style over substance 😬) we have a small extractor fan in the kitchen wall but more to pass the building regs than anything else as it’s pretty useless.
I open the sliding doors if it’s nice weather but can anyone recommend a candle I can burn after cooking so I don’t smell last nights dinner for days 😬

You need to open the kitchen door whilst cooking.

Wash up straight away after eating . Pot up and lid leftovers similarly.

Price's cooks candles are good.

Can you retrofit an extractor fan?
Otherwise, it's open windows and/or doors whatever the weather.

This is my biggest issue too!

Candle will just add to the smell. I'ts like a smelly loo, you need to ventilate.

Price's Chefs candle

Thanks for everyone’s suggestions . I’ll try and find a price’s candle 👍

I'd be really interested to know if these work OP

I couldn’t believe the difference a decent extractor fan made after years with a crap one. I thought my sense of smell had disappeared. Would a standalone air filter would help.

I hadn’t thought about a stand alone air filter I’ll look into that thank you
