Our garden is tiny and every bloody border is covered in slimy stinkin cat poo.

How do i keep them away?
Can i get a high pitched buzzer thingy?

The cat poo stench means we cant even go out there..

Get jumbo pack of black pepper and liberally sprinkle everywhere.

cornsilk · 08/04/2008 14:10

Doodletoo did a thread about exploding them with balloons. Can't be arsed to look for it but apparently it works.

allgonebellyup · 08/04/2008 14:10

really? do they hate pepper then

does it actually work?

cornsilk · 08/04/2008 14:11

No pepper doesn't work.

allgonebellyup · 08/04/2008 14:11

She said to bury the ballon in the soil and when the cats sit on it the balloon pops.

allgonebellyup · 08/04/2008 14:15

so i have to bury about 50 balloons all in a row round the edge??

Plant french marigolds, cats hate the smell of them, try it, it works - not good if you don't like marigolds, but better than shit anyway

you can buy lion poo in boxes called "the silent roar" which is supposed to deter cats.

are you sure it's not foxes though? cats are generally too embarrassed to leave it lying around.

mrsbigpants · 10/04/2008 22:15

Can't remember the name of it but I got some stuff (whilte granules that smell of a slightly rancid lemongrassy type scent) from a garden centre - you sprinkle it liberally wherever they leave their stinking little parcels. It really seems to work, but you do have to do it again after it's rained. If I get the chance will check the green house tomorrow to see if I still have the pack so I can get the name.

gigglewitch · 10/04/2008 22:19

mothballs worked for us. oh, and a lemonade bottle of water in their fave 'loo' no idea how that works
Just have to persuade the kids that they are NOT mints and therefore should not be eaten

BustyMcGee · 10/04/2008 22:29

We used to collect our own wee and sprinkle it about the garden, and it worked but was a hassle. DH enjoyed going outside at night

ktmoomoo · 10/04/2008 22:31

the is a certain plant you can grow which cats hate ill post it in my gardening corner when i remember it

ktmoomoo · 10/04/2008 22:32

lion pooh from a zoo works as it a bigger cat and therefore scares the domestic cat we tried it and it works , you can buy it from zoos sounds crazy but it true x
