Stain on baby next to me mattress protector - bin?

I was given a 2nd hand next to me for my soon to be born baby. The relative who gave it to me is a clean person but her youngest child is 2 yrs so this hasn't been used in approx 18months and has been stored in the attic.

This white part is a mattress protector. It holds together a little mattress, which has a black cover which doesn't have a zip so I can't see if it is stained, and a wooden board.

I've washed it in the machine with powder and milton. But I don't know what these spots are.

They look like ink but that can't be right?

You're not supposed to use second hand mattresses, can't quite remember why, can you replace it?

I think I will, if I can if I can find the right one.

@mysterystain

They look like mould spots.
Throw it in the bin - you definitely can get new mattresses for the next to me crib as I had to get one as I was given one by my friend :-) think it was about £30 from Amazon

You're suppose to have a new mattress anyway - think it was something to do about increased risk of cot death from memory

I am not sure what those marks are but I wouldn't feel comfortable using the mattress or cover. My first thought was bed bugs as those remind me of the marks I had years ago but then again they have this certain shape in all of them so it's weird.

Is it just the new mattress part I need? The wooden part looks fine.

I have washed the whole 'structure' as well. I put it through the machine, like the sides etc.

@Olika yuck! I was fairly confident I wanted to bin it anyway even though DH suggested we try wash it again. I just won't tell my sister in case she's insulted
