Mites in the home??

Help!! I've discovered several mite looking bugs in my bed that I share with my 5 month old. Attached is a photo of the mite close up. They're reddish brown, move fast for their size. Definitely bite because some I've squashed with blood in them. I'd not seen them before but now seeing 7 or 8 in the bed. Are these bird mites? Any posters who successfully removed them able to share their experience?

These are bed bugs unfortunately. You need a professional.
lift up the mattress and look in the sides crevices off the bed frame.

Looks like a bed bug to me. Sorry

That could be a mite, they are really tiny though. Bedbugs are redder and flatter I think. Do you have any chimneys or vents in your room where mites could come from? They do migrate out of nests looking for more hosts.

I am in the United States, I -THINK- this is a bed bug! Good pic, a little fuzzy. I won't say I am 100% certain of what I suspect, so I'd encourage you to google and verify it, or run a search using that image. However this is 100% what my thoughts were with your descriptions. (Great descriptive info btw)
There has been a big problem with them here in the states at times. Good luck mama! It is work to do a cleaning and certain protocols to eliminate them, but you are not alone and it can be done!! Look at the edge of your bare mattress where the thicker sewn edges meet each other. Like in the sewing/stitched edges of the outer mattress. That is a common place i hear, that you can check and they like to congregate. Also, check your couch - likely edges also, especially when you have not recently been in that area sitting. Use caution as they are very easy to spread. If you go to a relative or friends home etc, I have heard they are very sneaky and often like to hitch a ride and create a party at those new places. (Trying to inject a little light hearted humor) but I understand the stress it can cause.

Thanks. Pest control think they're bird mites, too small for bed bugs and we had a bird nesting in the loft. Deep clean starts today. Fingers crossed

Thank you for the information. We can't see any signs in the crevices. We also haven't seen any large bugs, only the tiny ones that are less than a mm. The photo is an extreme close up
