What's the best way people have found to get rid of that vague kitchen smell they always have? And yes I know they need to be cleaned.

To be honest our house always smells of curry and onions and garlic. Tonight is pork belly, another stinker. I try to keep the kitchen door shut when cooking but its not always possible with going in and out and the door doesnt close properly and sometimes springs open

I find ovens, grill pans and deep fat fryers are the worst offenders. Residual fat/grease is your enemy if you don't keep on top of it.

Thank you folks. These are the culprits I was suspecting. And drains!

I've got 1 of those reed diffuser things in my kitchen to help with the smell and I put a tiny bit of zoflora in the sink to keep that from smelling

I find it’s the bins that make our kitchen smell. I empty the bin and food caddy often and I put drops of essential oil into them.If I’m cooking I use the fan extractor or open a door or window.

Soda crystals and hot water helps with drain smells.

Do you run an extractor fan when you cook? Have you cleaned that? they can get greasy and smell. Anything stuck in your oven? What do you cook? Just trying work out what kind of smell youre dealing with. What's your bin like, anything spilt/stuck in the bottom of it under the bag, or round the rim? A bit of zoflora on a bit of kitchen roll in the bin is a tip I've seen on mn and I've done it before, but regular emptying and anything particularly smelly/chicken carcasses etc gets tied in a bag and.put straight in the outside bin. Get a drain unblocker and follow the instructions for your sink. Every few days I'll boil more water than I need for a cuppa and chuck the hot water down the sink too.
