Purdy & Figg products

Just wondering whether any of you use purdy & figg and would you recommend? I’m always a bit sceptical of the subscription model but it is of course much cheaper to buy it that way. And for household consumables subscription makes sense.

They claim to be multi surface and so you don’t need all the other separate cleaning products… but I don’t really understand this. So can you use their ‘surface clean’ instead of polish if the furniture is dusty…? Or on skirting boards for example? But what about my floor? You surely don’t slip a load of it into a mop bucket / electric floor cleaner?

Finally, I’m sure this is a daft question but you must have to change cloths, right? So you spray and wipe kitchen cupboards, then change cloth to do the living room furniture, and then change again to clean your glass surfaces?

I want to try it but I’m just a bit confused…

I’ve been using both the bathroom and surface cleaners for three months.
In the bathrooms I use normal microfibre cloths then the P&F one to polish mirrors taps and any shiny surfaces. It’s best to spray on to a cloth rather than directly on to mirrors or the outside of shower enclosures etc, as that way you don’t get smears.
Kitchen worktops, sinks and cupboards, again I use normal a microfibre cloth. Same with paint work.
Wooden furniture, I tend to spray the cloth, wipe over then use a P&F to finish.
I wouldn’t suggest using it on the floor, no idea if it makes floors slippy but the bottles are only small, one full one goes into the spray bottle and topped up with water.

I tried it and thought the actual spray is ok but nothing to get excited about and the glass bottles are nice but very small. I use a multi surface spray a lot so actually ploughed through 3 months worth in a month so just wasn’t sustainable for me. I kept the bottles and refill with multi surface cleaner that smells lovely but is much cheaper. Currently using some method stuff that you dilute.
i used multi surface on everything really, furniture, kitchen surfaces, skirting boards, anything that needs a wipe. I don’t like antibacterial so don’t use that.

They're fine, but it's just essential oils and water, and a small bottle so doesn't last long. I also worry about lack of anti bacterial because I often use to spray surfaces after handling raw meat. Smells nice though!

dothehokeycokey · 30/03/2024 09:09

I got through it way too quickly for the price.

Lovely smells but couldn't warrant the cost in the end.

I use a natural
Multi surface cleaner for the bathroom and kitchen and then a beeswax Polish for furniture so cost wise it wasn't sustainable as you still need other cleaning things

Sidebeforeself · 30/03/2024 09:17

Smells divine just as you use it , but that evaporates quickly. Not worth the cost and commitment

I looked into them and the products are not anti-bacterial so no good for cleaning kitchens and bathrooms imo

Hibernatalie · 30/03/2024 13:42

They smell lovely but don't last as long as they say they should so work out expensive

Ladymac77 · 20/10/2024 00:26

I tried it, the smell doesn't last and there are a lot of people on FB saying there is no number to call and they can't cancel their subscriptions. I wouldn't buy it again.

Jewels7 · 16/11/2024 12:17

It's amazing. I'm a bit of a clean freak and a bottle lasts me a month. You need the smallest amount sprayed directly on to the cloth then I polish with a different cloth.
I'm gradually got rid of all my chemical cleaners... Yay!! They are also very helpful if you email in.
I have the seasonal scents, and the autumn scent is great for keeping moths at bay in the bedroom.
I'd now never use anything else.

YorkieTheRabbit · 16/11/2024 12:27

It’s very easy to cancel or change your subscription on the website. I’ve cancelled one part of mine without any hassle at all 🤷‍♀️

OchAyeTheN00 · 18/11/2024 15:55

Been using them for years. Easy to cancel subscriptions.

I use one cloth for everything depending on what I’m doing. I also use it in the kitchen and bathroom, just bleach the toilet and once every couple of days I’ll use antibac in the kitchen.

I have OCD btw so I’m not some slob. It smells lovely and everything looks great.

Iamthemoom · 18/11/2024 16:37

I love the counter clean and use it on everything. The house smells gorgeous afterwards. I only change the cloth when it's dirty after use rather then swapping for different surfaces. I do all the wood surfaces in the house first usually and have a separate cloth for the kitchen. My cleaner does the bathrooms.
Think they clean really well and while I have sometimes bought additional bottles, it usually lasts me the 3 months.

Agreed. I took a second subscription out for my mum and cancelled it easily. Their customer service is actually very good.

catsareme14 · 18/11/2024 16:40

Overpriced & the so called long lasting aroma lasts minutes . I wouldn't recommend

catsareme14 · 23/02/2025 13:28

Waste of money .
