Help needed to use my Ninja fryer for baking

Help needed please. I recently jumped on the air fryer bandwagon & settled on the AF300 model with dual drawers. All good with chips, nuggets etc but I’d like to use it for baking. Only problem is none of my dishes or tins fit in the drawer.

Use the tin foil take away dishes

I have the AF400 and a non lipped loaf tin fits and Home Bargains or B&M do small round cake tins - Jane Asher I think

Thanks it would be good to use it for baking a banana bread.
has anyone found a way of baking muffins/cupcakes in the drawers?
i’m wondering if I should have bought a different model with only 1 bigger drawer

I have the smaller circular one and tried making a cake in it, I actually had to flip it over as it wasn't cooking properly. 100% won't be doing that again. I'm not sure they're really meant for baking cakes.

(It's been brilliant for everything else though).

You can use the silicone muffin cases but tbh in the AF300 you are going to be pushed fitting more then 4 in at a time so you may as well use the oven

I did make cakes and bread in mine - when I first got one - novelty value. Its a flaff, better to use the oven and bake everything at once

I also have the Foodi 15 in 1 and that I will make bread in, its designed to be used as a bread maker, and again, you can actually bake in that as tins fit and it has a nifty steam bake function

Thanks @suki1964 i did manage to put 5 muffin cases in the basket at one time but it was such a faff not having a tray to lift out. Over Christmas everyone online seemed to rave about air fryers so I jumped on board. Chose the 300 model as it has 6 functions including bake so thought it would be really useful. It’s good but I’m not getting the love!

I didn’t want a massive gadget taking up valuable worktop so it needs to earn its place in the kitchen.

Did it come with a recipe book?

I bought a 1 lb loaf tin from pro cook - it works well size wise (I have AF400)

BUT I have decided this week to just put the normal oven on when doing a cake. it really is far less faff for me. I find that the cake takes alot more 'overseeing' to get it to cook - even when using proper air fryer recipes. and that the little mini cake you get at the end not worth that effort.

Don't get me wrong - I do most cooking in there and love it, but for me for cakes its a no.

agree with above. I made a banana bread in a loaf tin last week and the recipe said 15 mins I think which I thought was optimistic. It was still very raw. I left it in at least a other 30 mins and jt was still raw at the bottom. I also tried turning it over and putting it back in which didn't help.
will not do it again. oven is much simpler

Seriously, they are a fantastic bit of kit, but they took off with the fuel increases and everyone and their mother was buying them with no though about how they actually cooked and if they were really needed

I personally haven't noticed any major decrease in my electric bill, but I seriously do cook everything from scratch

And WTF is the cooking a boiled egg in an air fryer all about????

I have two and I use one or the other daily - they complement how I cook. Tonight was Chinese, boiled rice ( hob ) chicken and black beans ( wok ) spring rolls - air fryer. Two years ago there would be no spring rolls cos no way was I heating an oven for spring rolls.. Same as those part baked rolls and jacket potatoes and bits like that, previously off the menu as no way was I heating an oven

Now we have those things because its only a few minutes in the air fryer

Also if having a beige meal ( frozen battered fish, nuggets, fish fingers etc ) absolutely excellent

But to replace an oven for everything - nope, not happening for me
