Vacuum or broom?

My DD 19 has long fine hair. Yesterday I spent about 4 hours stripping down two vacuum cleaners that were both clogged up with hair wrapped around the rollers etc.

We have laminate floors so it seems to me that perhaps a vacuum cleaner may not be the best way to clean, especially in DD's bedroom - perhaps a quick run over with a soft broom would be just as effective.

Any advice welcomed...

I raise you two long haired family members and two long haired cats...

If you use a broom there will still be some degree of having to pull out stuck hair from it.
Try using either a squeegee or a Swiffer.

The Swiffer is more wasteful, as you throw away the paper you cleaned with, but it is fastest and easiest to use as everything sticks directly to the paper.

The squeegee you will have to gather the hair and dust into a pile, then gather that up to remove it, so slightly more work, but ecologically more friendly.

Btw. For hair wrapped round rollers: take scissors and cut through the hair along the length of the roller, do three or four locations around the roller, but the whole length each tim. All the wrapped hsir should now consist of short lengths. Pull off what comes easily, then take a comb and comb out the rest. Should not take more than a few minutes.

Or a new vacuum with anti wrap rollers :)

TBH we have laminate, tiles and Lino downstairs and I use a flat headed mop to go through, it reaches everywhere and is light and quick and the microfibre heads attract all the fluff bunnies and hair ( dog's, cat's, and mine )
