Removing brown stains from bathtub

Trying to get old family home ready to put on market atm and would like to remove some very unsightly brownish-yellow stains from the enamel bathtub. The bathroom is very grotty and dated and will probably be replaced straightaway or very quickly by a new owner, but I would like to at least clean up the bath so it doesn't look so awful at viewings.

Have looked online and the advice is very conflicting. The methods advised include vinegar, a paste of baking soda, cream of tartar, and hydrogen peroxide?😕 As I said above, I don't think a new owner will keep the bath long, so I'm not massively worried about abrasion on the surface, it's more for appearances. Or is there something you can buy that might help?

My old reliable source is CIF , put that on leave for a while then take a plastic scourer.

Spirits of salts. But it's nasty stuff. Wear gloves, eye protection and don't breathe the fumes.

Have a look at Nancy Birtwhistle-she uses old fashioned eco friendly ingredients and has great results, I’ve used some of them and had good results

I recently cleaned a bath that hadn't been used in months (deceased owner) which had brown stains. Used lots of commercial products which didn't work and thought the new owners would need a new bath (& it was a fairly recent new build house!).

Used a home made solution of half and half hot water and white vinegar with a teaspoon of washing up liquid (which I'd used to clean the shower glass) in a spray bottle together with a washing up scrubby and it got it clean. My friend calls this solution my miracle spray and now uses it on everything in the kitchen too! Make sure you give the bottle a good shake.

Yes, I had been wiping with bleach on a cloth to no effect, but from what I can gather, it might respond better to acid. Tried to get cream of tartar yesterday, apparently can make a paste with vinegar to remove stains. thx.
