Heat pump tumble dryers

My vented dryer is on its last legs

How quickly do heat pump dryers take in comparison?

Thank you!

I haven't noticed much difference tbh.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 10/03/2024 18:40

Ours is AMAZING. I am obsessed with how wonderful it is.

ohfourfoxache · 10/03/2024 18:47

Fantastic, thank you!

Love my heat pump dryer

it has many settings and is able to detect how long the washing needs ( the last dryer we had was zanussi and lasted 20 plus years)

Lifebeganat50 · 11/03/2024 11:40

I haven’t noticed any difference APART from it doesn’t wreck clothes the way my old one did, VERY happy with my AEG

OhItsOnlyCynthia · 11/03/2024 11:42

I've recently got one to replace a 15 year old condenser, and it's brilliant. Nothing shrinks, the utility isn't like a sauna when it's running, it's so quiet, it's noticeably cheaper to run than my old one...

Genuinely wish I'd switched years ago.

MissBuzzard · 11/03/2024 11:45

Heat pump is slower compared to a vented as its not cremating your clothes with heat, about the same as a condenser as the tech isn't really much different.

The energy savings have been significant for me.

Scarletttulips · 11/03/2024 11:47

A load is 45 mins although there is a quick dry option for thinner clothes

shoofly · 11/03/2024 11:50

It's quieter and the utility room isn't like a sauna. I don't think it's noticeably slower. The daft tune it plays at the end is mildly irritating but I think it's great.

I was nervous changing from a vented one because we had an utterly rubbish condenser one years ago but the heat pump one is far better tbh

ginislife · 11/03/2024 11:52

I love mine ! (And it was a bargain so even better). The only thing I find is that occasionally I do need to put it on for a bit longer as things aren't quite dry - and I've been known to be able to smell the damp clothes smell which I hate.

kiwiane · 11/03/2024 11:52

I’m happy with mine although it is slower by half an hour at least. It is kinder to clothes so I’m putting more of my tops etc in to dry now.

BensonBunny · 14/03/2024 22:49

I don’t think mine takes longer than my old condensor but it doesn’t make its mind up about how long it’s going to take till it’s almost finished which is mildly annoying (I almost always use the sensor program).

BobbysSox · 14/03/2024 23:16

Defo slower but kinder to the clothes. I've bought some of those tumble dryer balls which have helped a bit.

TheOneWithUnagi · 14/03/2024 23:19

Love love our Bosch serie 6. I put almost everything in it now vs our vented one which I was scared to use for fear of ruining clothes.
I usually split loads in half and find that drying time is about 2 hours. So it's not quick but I don't really find it an issue.

Hi all I know this is an older thread but can anyone tell me what brand of condenser dryer they went with please? I'd quite like a Bosch but they aren't cheap! Thanks
