Why my clothes have debris/hair after I take them out of my washer/dryer?

Hello

I have the washer/dryer Hisense WDQA8014EVJM and whenever I wash my clothes in the fast program (20min), the clothes afterwards are filled with debris and hair.

Any idea that the problem is and how to fix it?

Thanks!

Are there filters you can clear out?
Have you done an empty hot wash to help clean out the drum?

conversant · 29/02/2024 20:50

I am not sure about filters but it's only few months old and I had literally less than 10-15 washes!

I did an empty wash and it did nothing unfortunately.

It seems there rubber around the door opening accumulates debris and it gets sticky and it's very difficult to remove it. Nevertheless, there shouldn't be a need to remove the debris and clean the door opening rubber after each wash, right?

It's hugely frustrating!

Hey Conversant!

I actually have this exact machine and I love it.

Are you using the fast wash and then drying immediately after in the machine?

Tumble drying generates a lot of lint which unfortunately doesn't collect in a filter like a conventional tumble dryer. The lint is collected on the clothing and the rubber seals and folds around the porthole/door assembly.

IF you're going to tumble dry in this machine after using the fast wash, named "Quick 15", you're better off doing a separate spin cycle at 1,400rpm to maximise water removal, which in turn means less drying, which hopefully means less lint production.

The "Quick 15" programme spins at a maximum of 800rpm, so not very fast unfortunately.

This is a brilliant washer-dryer when you know how to use it - I hope you get on well with it.

Let me know if you've any questions; I'm very experienced in using laundry appliances and can hopefully assist should you need it.

Thank you Sam, that's very helpful but it also actually means there is no actual solution to the lint problem, right?
Do all washers/dryers do that? I would be really keen to get one that does not do that.

SO sorry for the late reply. MN app doesn't notify me of anything. So annoying.

No, there's really no real solution to it. I am aware that higher end washer/dryers do have a "Rinse out fluff" programme (looking at you, Miele) along with BSH Group (Bosch, Siemens, etc) which is to be used immediately after a drying programme.

In a pinch, with the Hisense appliances we have, you can use the "Quick 15" set to cold in order to rinse out any fluff from the drying programme.
