What the hell do we do?! We have recently redone our whole lounge... new cupboards and the insides are full of mould already!! The mould is growing on freshly painted walls and brand new skirting boards ! please help! I'm at my wits end! I will clean it all off and within a couple of weeks and growing back again!

Our house is semi-detached and seems to be happening on the outside walls... is this a thing ?! Please help it's driving me insane.

Get some mould remover and treat it.
how is the insulation?
is there any air flow through the cupboards? That may be causing the build up of mould. Try getting a dehumidifier in there- one of the small box ones.

You've stopped the flow of air

We can't have anything touching certain walls because we get mould immediately

Clean with mould remover then repaint with anti mould paint. You can buy this or buy an anti mould additive that you can add to any paint. Try to increase ventilation. Run a dehumidifier, not those tiny pounds shop ones, it's worth investing in a decent plug in machine.

Clove oil and vinegar, Google for exact quantities, works a treat and stops the mould coming back. Don't over do the clove,.easier exactly or it'll stain the walls brown. Magic stuff. Also heat and air the place every day.

Are you putting cupboards in front of external walls when there were non before? Do you get mould if the cupboards are not in front of the wall? This will tell you if it's the cupboards causing the mould, or if there are some other reasons.

Are the airbricks outside blocked?
Is the earth higher than the damp course?
Do you have a cracked drain or pipe?
Is there a water leak on the incoming supply pipe?

You need to investigate these first otherwise repainting is just like polishing a turd.

As previous poster investigate.

The flat we are in now was covered in mould like that. I tried everything in terms of cleaning moving furniture windows open painting in expensive paints etc. Only real thing that worked as has been suggested here is a Maeco Dehumidifier.

You can get a specialist damp survey for only a couple of hundred quid, but the most common cause of mould is excess humidity in the house condensing on cold walls. If that's what they say, the solutions are to reduce the sources of humidity, ventilate daily, insulate the house better, and keep it warmer.
