How is putting on the line yet?

Normally I have my washing out on the line all year. But it normally didn't get much dryer from Oct onwards. I still haven't put it out yet.

Is anyone putting there's out right now? Is it getting drier?

It was really grey but windy here today.
Got the bedding washed and dried. A load of towels are almost dry so I'm leaving them overnight on the clothes horse. If the paving stones are damp I don't bother, but if they're dry, I put washing out, even for just a few hours.

I did yesterday, got some bedding dry. I get irrationally irritated by hanging stuff out and then rehanging inside.

Taylormiffed · 19/02/2024 17:21

I never stopped. On a breezy or freezing dry day it gets it almost dry. It's out about 4 days a week.

My line snapped last time I put any out 😭😭 tbh we looked outside earlier and said we need to buy another line. We get through a surprising amount think it's because we live by the sea and the metal core corrodes quite quickly.

I haven't stopped. I pick my day. An elderly friend said if the slabs are drying the washing will. Got dogs' stuff dry yesterday, a dark load of jeans and sweatshirts today.

I’ve had washing out today and it has dried.I hang it up overnight in the utility room just to finish it off. As long as it’s not forecast rain I try and hang washing out.

Not warm enough yet. Maybe April.

You don't need warmth, you need dry and breezy.

Two loads put out on the line this morning. Around half of it completely dry, the other half just needs finishing off overnight on the airer.

I'm in Wales, mild but dry with a good breeze today.

My mum.would put the washing out on frosty days and so did I. But recently I'm not convinced they get much dryer on really wintery days. I'm my happier drying it outside but definitely feel the rage of doing the drying thing outside just to dry it inside afterwards. I'm happy to get the last of the damp dried inside.

Mine is always out but this last couple of weeks I've had lots outside getting dry in good time, usually in the winter I just bring in when they need finishing off. If it's dry everything goes out!

TheBlueAndAmber · 19/02/2024 18:28

I usually start putting mine out in March, as you can get some lovely drying days, also, when the clocks change, I get more light and warmth in the garden which helps a lot!
Fed up with trying to dry in the house now, can’t wait to get it all out on the line, then in later, all fresh smelling! Makes life so much easier 😀

NoWordForFluffy · 19/02/2024 18:44

We have a drying rack in the downstairs loo and I love the smell of outdoors-dried washing airing in there!

NailsHairNipsHeels · 19/02/2024 18:47

My rule is if the slabs are drying my washing will dry. I also do an extraction on the machine on every wash to get more water out and that helps with drying times too

I hang stuff out most days even just for a few hours, then onto the airer.
Todays washing I was able to out straight away

LilacpointMummy · 19/02/2024 21:37

I watch the forecast and plan my laundry days appropriately.

I hang it all year round if it's dry, and warm it on the heated airer.

I do see it as a personal failure to use the tumble dryer 😆
