Just that really! We are making a new large built in wardrobe (good at diy and frugal!) and I am just wondering what are you best wardrobe features (storage wise)?

Pull out shelves, fancy shoe holders etc.

Scarf and belt hangers on hooks on the inside of the doors, rather than along with the hangers.
Double rows for part of the wardrobe, so shirts above, trousers on hangers below, maybe another set of double rows for jumpers and tshirts, depending on how many clothes you have. I then have a single rail for dresses
I did see a wardrobe with hooks for bags.. I'd need a lot of space for that, but can see how it would make storage easier.
Enough space for boots and shoes if you are going to keep them in the wardrobe.
I like to have everything hanging so I can see it easily, but some people prefer shelves/drawers.
Oh, and make sure you've got plenty of light and a mirror.

Definitely sliding doors. Nothing ever in the way when you’re using the wardrobes. Wouldn’t go back to doors.

Built in chest of drawers

I like doors! I have 2 that open in the opposite way; mirrors on the inside of each. I can see the front and back of myself and then shut them when I’m done.

Sliding doors, everything soft close, concealed drawers, adjustable height shelves, tv that can be hidden!
We had ours made to our own exact spec. Expensive but totally worth while.

Pull put shoe racks plus full length shelf for heels (sort of like a boutique shoe display)
Pull out accessory compartment with glass shelf above so I can see what's in it.
Built in chest of drawers
Large shelves for handbag display
Double hanging rows like a pp mentioned
Sliding doors with one section a full length mirror
Lights

I don't have a section where I can hang long dresses which I did initially plan in the design but had to, annoyingly, give a tiny bit of wardrobe to my husband!

We have power points inside our wardrobe. DH thought I was bonkers for wanting them but soon changed his mind. The hairdryer is plugged in and ready to use on my side, no more plugging it in at an awkward socket by the skirting. On husband's side, he has the chargers for a shaver and toothbrush on a shelf at waist height. All kept neat and out of sight.

We have power points in ours that have never been used!
Sliding soft close doors, chest of drawers (also soft close) and shelving. Ive got long hanging space in mine too, Pretty straightforward but Dh made them all and I love them! Double wardrobes for both of us but only 2 wide sliding doors, it does mean that we can’t both get to all of our wardrobe sides at the same time but in the 5 years we’ve had them i don’t think it’s ever caused a problem!
Sharps quoted us something like 9 grand for what we’ve got and it cost us about 2 grand in the wood and mirroring and fixtures and fittings and then he just made it all over a few weekends in the workshop (in the garden).

In-wardrobe heaters.

Our wardrobes are on a North wall which is always cold. We were getting a problem with condensation but these gadgets have saved the day. (Another reason why power sockets inside the wardrobes are handy!)
