Electric cooker sparking. Is it time to replace?

Noticed the other day that one of the hobs had little flashes of orange lights which I am guessing are sparks. It's a ceramic hob. I haven't used it since but the oven part I have and it still works as it should.

Anyone else experienced this?
The cooker is less than 5 years old so I'm really disappointed.

Try making sure it’s not wet or needs cleaning. Google it for more information

Google isn't helping much. Keeps bringing up gas cooker info when I mention sparking.

Could the fact it needs cleaning cause sparking under the ceramic surface?

Google the manufacturers and look for a help line number, there is generally a support line or at least an email address.
